The Plant Exchange (a 501c3 nonprofit) was founded in 2007 by Odette to encourage neighborhoods to share resources, recycle gardening materials, eliminate unnecessary landfill waste, and increase local sustainability.
 

The signature event was the annual Plant Exchange, which started in Odette’s front yard and grew into a yearly event that brought together over 1000 community members in a celebration of all things gardening, becoming the largest plant swap in the US. 

As of May 2023, The Plant Exchange closed its warehouse and is only doing pop-up events around the Bay Area.
